EXTD=
EXTT0=THE FIRST DOOR, appears as though it is going to be an\ninvention or s
EXTT0=ome contrapunctual device, but the theme\nmanages always to get sdetra
EXTT0=cked into chains of\nsuspension and 'interrupted thought.'
EXTT1=THE SECOND DOOR, The Ugly Head of Greed, sets up\na foundation for the
EXTT1= theme to appear, but the first indication\nof thematic materials is t
EXTT1=he DIES IRE (Day of Wrath) shortly\nfollowed by the trumpet sounding i
EXTT1=n a Baroque style which\nleads to the chant of a portion of the 93rd p
EXTT1=salm, which\ntranslates: Rise Judge of the World, give the proud their
EXTT1=\ndesserts; while a pit is being dug for the wicked.
EXTT2=THE THIRD DOOR is purely a description piece as the\nArmy of Pride cha
EXTT2=ses away the demons of door two\nThe function of this piece is concern
EXTT2=ed with the timbre\nand energy level leading to the sharp cutoff of sy
EXTT2=nthetic\ntexture to the all-acoustic texture of the fourth door.
EXTT3=THE FOURTH DOOR allows the theme to come out\non its own and be totall
EXTT3=y exposed without fear of any\nwild crashing around, (it was time for
EXTT3=a break anyway.)\nThe relaxing nature of this idiom is headed more tow
EXTT3=ard\nthe classical period.
EXTT4=THE FIFTH DOOR, Frenetic Energy, is to bring the\nenergy level back up
EXTT4=... Frenetic is due to all the dots\non the score that have been playe
EXTT4=d on the harpsichord,\nand for the raped and plundered jacks and plect
EXTT4=ra lying\naround on the studio floor. The theme comes hauling\nin abo
EXTT4=ut halfway thru and allows itself to go thru all that.
EXTT5=THE SIXTH DOOR is the relief after the energy of five\nand before the
EXTT5=energy of seven. This door holds the\nfirst hint of a closing theme e
EXTT5=ven though its placement\nis a little early.  It's a nostalgic, acoust
EXTT5=ic texture piece\nto rest your ears for door seven... Sweet bird that
EXTT5=shunn'st\nthe noise of folly, most musical, most melancholy. -Milton
EXTT6=DOOR SEVEN... Thermal Inversion is a hot licks\nhigh energy cut. This
EXTT6= is the culmination of the musical\nenergy curve with which this side
EXTT6=was conceived.\nThe theme comes in halfway thru with an acoustic\ninst
EXTT6=rument that overpowers the wall of synthetic texture.
EXTT7=THE FANTASY wraps it all up and gives final release to\nthe tension.
EXTT7=The theme comes back in the original\ninstruments for the last time, a
EXTT7=nd the direct meaning\nand implication is up to you... Sometimes used
EXTT7=to indicate\na dream-like mood.
